Vintage/Shabby Chic Basket

I purchased a basket from a place called 'butters' which provides the big supermarkets with their flower arrangements and bouquets.

What I used:

Weaves square basket
White paint
Off white lace
Large white paper tea rose
4 smaller white paper roses
wooden button
Brown and white raffier string
leaves sprig x 2
Pearl string

The basket I painted in white inside and out. I used small grain sandpaper to sand back some of the paint to make it duller, older and a bit battered.
I then stuck the lace around the bottom half of the basket using red sticky tape. To cover the join in the lace I used the large tea rose.
I tied the raffia string through the holes in the button and stuck the button to the middle of the rose.
I placed two smaller roses either side of the larger one.
I gently sanded the two leaf sprigs to make them fit in with the style of the basket.
I finished this all off by gluing the pearl string around the bottom of the basket lip.

I am pleased with how this piece turned out and my mum loved it so much that she has pinched it, along with the desk tidy I made.

Christmas Cards 'n' Tags part One

Well as it is November already, I thought I best pull my finger out and make some packs or Christmas cards and tags....

Once i was well enough, I made a few visits to the range to get all the bits I might need, then set to work.

Here is a selection of the things I havemade so far....I know I need some traditional/religious ones, but I'm enjoying the cute ones at the moment lol

I have made packs of 5 tags and packs of 6 cards (apart from the tatty ted one, that was a one off).... I shall continue to make and if they don't sell, well I'll give them to charity lol

Holidays are coming Holidays are coming....

Well with Christmas just around the corner, I thought I best get my butt in gear and start my Christmas makes!
Needless to say, I started off with good intentions of making loads and loads of Christmas cards and tags BUT I lost my mojo and couldn't get my head around them.

I have made a few Christmas tags and ONE, yes you read it right, ONE card lol

I love Christmas, I just find Christmas cards restrict me (not sure why)....

Oh, and I made something that isn't Christmassy....see if you can spot it mixed in with the photos lol

Thank you for reading and Happy Christmas...I mean Crafting :-) xxxx

Decorated mirror

I found a gorgeous mirror in Ikea that I stuck a ribbon or sacking on, added moss, shells, driftwood and some wooden shapes. I am really pleased with how this turned out as it is something new for me!

Sewing themed desk tidy

I went totally out of my comfort zone and made a 'Sewing Room Desk Tidy'.... I was so worried how this would turn out as it was a total experiment for me, however I am so so happy and it has spurred me on to do more altered stuff rather than card making.

Diecuts...

I have been trying to use more diecuts on my cards recently as I think they look nice....but they are also cheap to do and can be totally personalized as in colours etc....

If you would like to know how to do anything on any of my projects then please just shout....

Thank you for looking and hopefully commenting.... Love Lisa xxxx

Twinchy Time

Well people I am entering another challenge over on
'show us your twitchy' challenge blog

http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/challenge-4-add-flower.html?m=1

I have made three matching twinchies and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I am going to be making plenty more of these bad boys....

I uses a base of gold mirri board, with a brown Kraft card and then a shabby chic paper.
I cut two gold leaf/twig die cuts, and a brown Kraft card rose. I teamed these with a pearl, gold Skelton leaf and a pearl spray.

I hope you like my twinchy as much as I loves making it xxxx

Don't open in the dark!!!!

I was given an order for two cards. One was for her sister and the other for her brother.

The Brief for the brothers card - he likes the gym! Woops....never seen a gym in my life lol
I first thought a big muscle man, but what man wants that on his card?
I then thought a gym bodied sexy lady, but that's for calendars lol
I then thought why not choose a different kind of gym body?? You'll see what I mean when you see it lol

The brief for the sisters card - scary but NO clowns...
I thought gothic, blacks with a hint of another colour.
The image I found was certainly scary and I took the teal colour from the picture to use as the colour.
I certainly won't be keeping this card in my room over night lol

I am really pleased with how both of these turned out and will be making more of these types of cards.

I hope you like then as much as I do....

Sad News

I am sad to announce that I have left the CraftyMess Challenge Blog. I am sad as it was my first ever DT post, however it gives me a lot more time to learn new techniques and skills for the amazing 'Crafty-Emblies' page.

I am still happily admin for the CraftyMess Facebook group as it would take a bomb to get me out of that group lol

This is a sad time but also a very positive time. If something isn't right then it isn't right. I wish the DT well.

Onwards and upwards and bring on the Emblies lol xxxx

Ooohhhh look what I found

.... Well I was looking through my CD's and found 'paintbox poppets' which I had totally forgotten I have.... What a pleasant surprise :-)

I was looking to make some simple but still nice cards for stock for boot sales and save the more fancy stuff for craft fairs.

I printed off some of the craft companions sheets and added some bits and pieces of my own.

I really hope you like them. Please be honest with your feedback as if they are rubbish I'll stop making them lol
