Twinchy Time

Well people I am entering another challenge over on
'show us your twitchy' challenge blog

http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/challenge-4-add-flower.html?m=1

I have made three matching twinchies and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I am going to be making plenty more of these bad boys....

I uses a base of gold mirri board, with a brown Kraft card and then a shabby chic paper.
I cut two gold leaf/twig die cuts, and a brown Kraft card rose. I teamed these with a pearl, gold Skelton leaf and a pearl spray.

I hope you like my twinchy as much as I loves making it xxxx

Don't open in the dark!!!!

I was given an order for two cards. One was for her sister and the other for her brother.

The Brief for the brothers card - he likes the gym! Woops....never seen a gym in my life lol
I first thought a big muscle man, but what man wants that on his card?
I then thought a gym bodied sexy lady, but that's for calendars lol
I then thought why not choose a different kind of gym body?? You'll see what I mean when you see it lol

The brief for the sisters card - scary but NO clowns...
I thought gothic, blacks with a hint of another colour.
The image I found was certainly scary and I took the teal colour from the picture to use as the colour.
I certainly won't be keeping this card in my room over night lol

I am really pleased with how both of these turned out and will be making more of these types of cards.

I hope you like then as much as I do....

Sad News

I am sad to announce that I have left the CraftyMess Challenge Blog. I am sad as it was my first ever DT post, however it gives me a lot more time to learn new techniques and skills for the amazing 'Crafty-Emblies' page.

I am still happily admin for the CraftyMess Facebook group as it would take a bomb to get me out of that group lol

This is a sad time but also a very positive time. If something isn't right then it isn't right. I wish the DT well.

Onwards and upwards and bring on the Emblies lol xxxx

Ooohhhh look what I found

.... Well I was looking through my CD's and found 'paintbox poppets' which I had totally forgotten I have.... What a pleasant surprise :-)

I was looking to make some simple but still nice cards for stock for boot sales and save the more fancy stuff for craft fairs.

I printed off some of the craft companions sheets and added some bits and pieces of my own.

I really hope you like them. Please be honest with your feedback as if they are rubbish I'll stop making them lol

One is a vintage oriental ATC and the other is a vintage card.

I hope you like them xxx

Pink, black and white

Today's CraftyMess daily challenge was 'flower power' which must include at least one hand made flower.

I found a pink rose backing paper which I forgot I had and decided to use that.
I used Matt black card stock for layering and some embellishments.
I used a gorgeous stamp from a nature collection from umount. One I stamped on white card and the other was on the flowered paper.
I diecut a scalloped oval to mount the sentiments on.
I made embellishments with all the different card and paper stock I used as well card candi, faux pearls, feathers and pearl sprays.
I love these card, for different reasons.

Hope you like them xxxx

Back to a good mood...

Well, the last few days I have been in a really bad mood where I have 'hated the world'. Due to this I have stayed away from the Internet etc as I didn't want to say something I shouldn't lol
Even though I have been away, I have carried on crafting and would like to share my makes with you all.....

Monday 13.08.2012 - CraftyMess Daily Challenge - Cheer Someone Up

I decided for once to be selfish and I made these rings and earrings sets for MYSELF to cheer ME up!
I saw quite a few presenters and demonstrators on create and craft wearing button rings and thought 'I could make them'. I ordered all the stuff from eBay and set to work as soon as they arrived.
I stuck 3" clown buttons onto 8mm round adjustable ring bases with pinflair. I pushed gems into the button holes to stick to the pinflair that was pushed through. I stuck the earrings in the same way.
I am so pleased with how these have turned out and I will be making some more sets to sell at craft fairs etc.

Tuesday 14.08.2012 - CraftyMess Daily Challenge - Dinosaurs

To make this card I used backing papers from a paper pad I have had for a while and a freebie die cut that I received with a purchase from eBay.
The bottom paper with the dinosaurs on is actually glittery, but it was hard to get it to show in the photo so I gave up lol
I layered the papers with a dark green ribbed card and added a card ribbon from the same card. I finished the card off with green and silver Card Candi.
I am quite pleased with this card as I do struggle with 'boy cards'.

Wednesday 15.08.2012 - CraftyMess Daily Challenge - Butterflies
I purchased quite a few packs of these papers and toppers in various designs and colours, but have never used this set before.
I used a rusty coloured embossed card base on a A5 white card. I layered two of the toppers with foam pads and covered the top one with decoupage lacquer. I used a ripped paper border which matches the toppers, butterflies and the sentiment. I finished off with gold Card Candi. Simple but lovely card in my mind and I was pleased with it.

Thursday 16.08.2012 - CraftyMess Daily Challenge - Favourite Animal and Colour

Another card from my Crafters Companion Moreheads CD. I used one of the pre-designed card sheets but I printed off two and cut and jigged it about to make it 'myown'. I used a glitter pen to go round the edges of the patterned papers and also to highlight the writing and the picture. I used glossy accents on the flower, nose and eye on the image.
I finished off glossing the fake bow and finished with foe pearls.
Yes it is cutie cutie but I love puppies and I love PINK!!

Random Make lol

I often go back to my 'Tatty Ted' kits as I love them and are always a favourite. The image is decoupaged and I have glossed parts of it to highlight.
The backing paper is a k&co one mounted on pearlised textured card which I also mounted the image and the sentiment on. I finished off with a tonic border punch and little pink and yellow gems in the punched details.
Love this card as it is really simple!

I have made eight of these tags, one for each of the goodie bags for the ladies I am meeting in October from the CraftyMess facebook group. We are having a weekend in Kettering to craft, drink, laugh and generally misbehave hahaha need I say more??? NO lol

Well, that was a long post....if you are still reading and looking then thank you. If you aren't, then I honestly don't blame you lol

My Promise to Myself

Well for a while I have been promising myself that I would enter more challenges. I have tonight made a card that I am entering into a couple of challenge blogs.

I know I am still a relatively simple crafter, but I put a lot of time and effort into my cards and would like them to be seen by a larger audience. even if they don't win any prizes!

I have been playing with my Crafters Companion Moreheads CD again and found the most adorable image of a baby girl and a cute dog.

I took a 6x6 card blank and made a simple easel card with it. I found a gorgeous 12x12 k&co paper and matted this on pink and then yellow card stock to make a base for the bottom of the card and the visible side of the top of the card. I matted the Moreheads image with the same card.

I cut a lace ribbon border on my bigshot out of the pink card and added a yellow ribbon and bow as my easel card stopper.

I added the layered imaged onto the top of the easel card and finished the card off with a swirl and some beautiful hand made flowers cut out of the same coloured card as the layers and put them together with a pink and a yellow glittery brad.

I know this isn't as spectacular as some cards, but I am still practising with embellishments, and sometimes 'less is more'.

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:

ATC's and Cards with Attitude - Lace or Anything Goes

I hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

New CraftyMess Challenge Blog Challenge

Today See's the launch of a brand new CraftyMess Challenge blog challenge with the theme of 'Words Only'.

I am lucky enough to be a Design Team member on this amazing blog.

For this card I used an 8x8 stepper card. I stamped over the front with a limited edition summer purple Tim Holtz distress ink.
The sentiment was printed off a sentiments CD I have and matted and layered it on different purple card including glitter and pearl card.
I made all the flowers and swirls etc out of the same card used to layer the sentiment. The main two flowers are made out of paper inked with the same purple as the stamped images on the card base.
I finished the card off with hat pins and card candi.

This tag was a little added extra that I made for the 'words only' challenge. I used a white luggage tag and used various Tim Holtz distressed ink and ripped card to make the back ground.
I then stamped the butterfly with distress ink and coloured it with a water brush.
the sentiment was stamped and then embossed with black embossing powder.
Once all the ink was dried I added swirls and highlights with glitter pen and added small flat back gems to the butterfly and the added glittered swirls at the bottom.

I would love it if you would take a look at the CraftyMess challenge blog and join in the challenge yourself. There is a prize from Crimson Cloud up for grabs, so well worth a look see :D
Please click HERE to take you to the CraftyMess Challenge Blog.

The Crafty-Emblies first ever Challenge is still running. The theme is 'Flora and Fauna' and is running till the end of the month.

End of week randomness!

Well these will be my last bits of crafting for a little while why finger dressing is on.

Just a few bits I have made the last couple of days....

I hope you like them xxx

I would like to enter my tag into the 'Tag Challenge' over on the Cards Galore Challenge Blog

I used a brown Kraft Luggage tag and stamped the foliage with various Tim Holtz distress inks. The sentiment is from a umount stamp set. I distressed the edges and drew fake stitching around. I added glitter pen to the sentiment and to the dandelion clock.

Morehead First Make

Well I today received my Crafters Companion Morehead CD and it is sweet to the point of being sickly sweet :D Just how I like it hahaha

As soon as I got it I ripped off the packaging and had to have a look through the first CD which is the 'peoples' CD. I thought I would leave CD 2 the 'animals' CD till tomorrow as something to look forward too (Yes I am sad) lol

I have to admit, I don't like Crafters Companion CD layouts so opened it in my SERIF Craft Artist Professional program and absolutely loved the images.

Here is my first make from the CD and I have to say that I enjoyed making this card. I know it won't be to every ones taste as not everyone likes cuteness, however it is something different and easy cards to make.

As my regular visitors will know I am a member of two Design Teams:

Crafty-Emblies Who are currently running a 'Flora and Fauna' challenge which is due to end towards the end of the month

CraftyMess Challenge Blog Who are currently running a 'Bird' challenge which is due to finish Friday

I am also lucky enough to be a member of Admin in a great facebook group called CraftyMess who do Daily Challenges as well as fortnightly and Monthly Challenges.
We have introduced the following things to the group as well as other things:
-Selling Craft Items you have made
-Selling unwanted Craft Materials
-Various Events for all Crafting areas. Share ideas and tutorials etc
-Blog Event to share your blog address and when you have posted
The good thing about having these as Events is that the posts don't get lost or clog up the main group wall allowing people to chat and have fun.
It would be lovely if you would like to join us and join in the challenges when you can :D

Thank you as always for taking the time to visit my blog...your visits and comments really make me proud of what I do....

Green Trees

Well.....today has been a long one!!

I have made only two cards today and both were entered into the 'CraftyMess Daily Challenge' over on their facebook page CraftyMess Facebook Group

The challenge was to make anything as long as it had a main colour of Green...GREEN??!! I so dislike green with me being a pinky girl n all :D

Well my first card I used my new stamps AGAIN. I stamped the same image three times, die cut around the images and then distressed them with Crushed Olive ink.
I then distressed the edges of the backing paper with the same colour and mounted on black matt mirri board and added to a DL size card.
I added small green flat backed gems and four black gems to the corners.

My second Card I die cut a tree out of black matt mirri card and mounted on backing paper which i inked the edges with peeled paint distress ink. I then mounted on a die cut black mirri board die cut.
I then cut backing paper and matted onto black mirri board, rounded the corners and added to 6x6 card blank. I added a smaller die cut with happy birthday and painted with glossy accents. I added a button with some matt black leaf flourishes.
I added little green flat back gems to some of the tree leafs to add a little bling :D

The three tree card won the daily challenge so I am really happy :D I have set tomorrows daily challenge as 'Anything that isnt classed as Paper Crafts'. The reason for this is that CraftyMess have started discussing other crafts like cooking, knitting, Jewellery etc rather than focusing on cards, ATC's and Scrap Pages.

More new stamps

Ok ok so I know I have to stop buying BUT some things are just sooooo pretty! I purchased some Kanban stamps and they arrived today so I ripped off the packaging and had to play.

The card I made was for the 'CraftyMess Facebook group' daily challenge of bows, bling and buttons :-)
The group also has a 'sketch challenge' so thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and make my daily challenge with the sketch challenge sketch lol crafty crafty

I stamped three of the images from the stamp set onto white card. Matted these onto matt black mirri card. I used an 8x8 card base and added a beautiful silver and black textured patterned paper matted on to the same black matt mirri card. I arranged the images to match the sketch, coloured in the main image with glitter pen an added small gems and a glitter edge. I edged the smaller images as well. Added a greeting, some more bling and some gorgeous tiny black buttons :-)

I LOVE how this turned out.... Hope you do as well!!!

The CraftyMess challenge blog now allows selling of crafty stash as well as hand made crafty items. This is all done in events so doesn't take over the main page of the group and allows people to still have a laugh and enter the challenges. If you would like to join then please click the badge on my blog page :-)

Bits n bobs n more bits

Just a little update of some bits I've been making....

Won't be a lot of text on this post as I am tired and I have a very poorly very badly burned finger :-(
