This is the first time I have used Promarkers, as I usually use Spectrum Noirs, however my neighbour gave me a set of skin tone Promarkers so I used them.

Butterfly Box

WOW WOW WOW Thank you all soooooo much for the amount of comments on my last blog post and all your kind words...You left me speechless. I am working my way through them, repaying the love.

Yesterday, I fancied making something different. I made a Design Team piece, which I can't show you yet, and I decorated a box that I have had for a while.

I started off by stamping the sides of the box with a kanban stamp and purple versafine ink.
I then mixed gesso with some Victoria Velvet distress ink to make a coloured gesso and painted the whole of the box. I added a few more layers and stippled them to give some texture and deeper colouring.
I mixed some of the same ink with water, in a spray bottle, and sprayed the box.
I glued through a butterfly mask I have, and then glittered over the top.
Added some skeleton leaves, pearl sprays and various sized roses.
I finished with some dusky pink ribbon and a silver butterfly charm and pearls.

The main focus butterfly on the lid was made by a company called SeemaCrafts.
The company is run by Seema, and she has a challenge blog as well, details of which is in my blog side bar.
Please pop over and show some support to a new business and challenge blog.
These butterflies are so easy to colour as they take ink, alcohol pens etc They are absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you once again for all the wonderful visits to my blog....
Comments will be returned, they just might take a few days lol

Not a Birthday

Welcome fellow bloggers, crafters, friends and beautiful people.

I said that I would be making anniversary and wedding cards next, however I had a fancy to use my new pinflair baby stamps...

I made one blue and one pink baby card.
I stamped them on ink me hubkydory card and coloured them in with spectrum noir and gelliroll glitter pen.

I adore these cards, and will be playing with the other stamps in the pack.

I would like to add my pink and white baby card to the challenge over at 'Bunny Zoe's Crafts - pink and white

The third card I made today was a card for the Mad Crafty Giggles Facebook group. Each day we have a 'one word wonder' challenge and today's word was 'friends'.

I used a SWALK topper that I had printed and matched this off with some hot off the press papers and diecut embellishments.

I'd like to enter this card into the 'Happy Campers' Challenge #19 - Bling (There are gems in the centre of the big and small flowers, plus the butterfly). I am also throwing my crafting hat in the ring and applying to be part of their design team.....(Fingers and toes crossed).

I'd also like to enter this card into

I hope you like these cards. I'm not great at making cards that aren't 'birthday cards' but I am trying, and doing quite well (in my opinion).

Thank you so much for visiting my blog, all comments are appreciated!

SeemaCrafts Newest Challenge - Holiday/Vacation

Well, that month went rather quickly...Yes, it has been a month since the last challenge over on SeemaCrafts Challenge Blog.

SeemaCrafts isn't JUST a Challenge Blog, Seema also makes gorgeous hand made embellishments etc. Please pop over and have a look around the Blog to see what is on offer, and hopefully enter the challenge and treat yourself to a few gorgeous items from her shop.

Well as the title suggests, the theme for this month is Holiday/Vacation....

For this, I decided to make an altered canvas with collaged postcards and images/wording relating to travel and Holidays.

I used matte Mod Podge over the top of the collaged areas and then crackle glaze over the image/wording areas. I distress inked, dripped alcohol ink and refill ink and then added flowers and leaves.

I hope this make has given you some inspiration to pop over and join in the great challenge.
