On a Roll Take Two

WOW Another couple of days of being on a Crafting Roll....and boy am I enjoying it....

First things first. This is the Birthday Card and Gift that I made one of our neighbours.
She loves green, but only certain tones of green.

I decorated a basket with some elasticated ribbon/lace around the top. Then I put some wide raffia in green around the bottom half of the basket, then a cream knitted textured lace on top of that.
I decorated with large and small leaves, a cream tea rose, stringed pearl spray and two pearl stick pins.

The colours used on this card are Tim Holtz Forest Moss and Bundled Sage.

From what I am told, she absolutely loved both of them...I hope she wasn't just being kind lol

The above card was made for a 'One Word Wonder' challenge over on the Mad Crafters Giggles Facebook Group. The word was 'Water'. I used a S.W.A.L.K image and the backing paper is a 12x12 K&Co paper that I found in my stash.

The above card is another card I made for  a 'One Word Wonder' challenge over on the Mad Crafters Giggles Facebook Group. The word was 'House'. This was a pack I found in my stash. I won it in a raffle at a crafty meet last year.

This card was made from a topper set from Kanban. I used an A4 embossing folder to make the spotted embossed backing. I love the bright sunshine yellow.

Thank you once again for all the lovely comments that people leave on my blog. All comments will be returned, even if it takes me a couple of days to return the visit.

Our wonderful sponsors again this week are:

What I made...
Lindsay (the owner and designer of LEJ Designs), recently finished a gorgeous Bee digi image. I was so eager to use this image, so chose to make a card that used a summer insect and lovely bright sunny yellow in my make.

This is what I made.....

The image was gorgeously shaded, which means that it took very little to colour.
I printed off three bee's and cut them up to make it a decoupage look.

Each layer I painted with black and yellow distress inks and a water brush. For the eyes and the wings I used mica powder, crackle glaze and glitter.

The backing was done with a honeycomb stencil, which I embossed, drew round, painted with mod podge and glitter...

I hope this cheers you up with the lovely sunshine yellow.

It doesn't scream 'the sun has got his hat on', but if we all made the same kind of thing, it would be boring :-)

I hope you will pop over to the shop and the blog and play along with us over on the LEJ Designs Challenge Blog.

Hugs and <3

Stamped and Bright

Well I have been on a card making mission today. I made a list of the Challenge Blogs that were holding challenges I was interested in entering, and set to work.

This is the second card I made today.

I found the Image and Sentiment Stamps in my stamp box.
I stamped them onto Hunkydory Professional Stamping and Colouring card and used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour them in with the same colours.

I found a gorgeous grass Green colour that I have used to matt all the elements of the card.
The backing paper is from my stash and works perfectly with the card. I used a EK Success border punch along the edge and to also make a border for the lovely yellow ribbon, which I also made a lovely bow from.

The image and sentiment has been bordered with a glittery faux stitching and accents on both highlighted with glitter stickles, like the wings, centre of the flowers and some of the dots in the sentiment.

The flowers are punched in two different sizes and put together and then the glitter stickles used on them also.
I finished off with beautiful pink pearls which were given to me by a fellow crafting friend.

I would love to enter this card into the following Blog Challenges:

No Matter Which Challenge - BINGO! Sparkle/glitter, border punch and bow

Summer's Here!

Today's card has taken inspiration from the gorgeous sunny day with the clear blue sky...(finally I hear you all say).

I printed the image and backing paper from 'The Great Outdoors' CD.

I have glittered the sentiment and the bucket and spade.
Used a border punch for one edge, and ripped the other edge for the page border.
I have a white twine bow with a glittery button on the top.
Finished off with card candi in matching colours.

I'd love to enter this card into the following Blog Challenges:

Glitter n Sparkle - Anything Beginning with B (beach, bird, bucket, bow, button, border)

Emma's Crafty Challenge - Buttons and Bows

I hope this card cheer you up and makes you think of summer.

The cards that are so hard to make

Over the last few weeks I have been asked to make quite a few 'thinking of you' cards to be sent to people who have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses.
Yesterday I was asked to make a sympathy card.
I find these types of cards so hard as they are so easy to get wrong. It's finding a balance of 'comforting but understated'.

In my stash I found a Hunkydory topper and backing sheet for sympathy cards.
I made two cards, that way the customer can choose which one they think is more appropriate.

I hope they are suitable and that the recipient gets some comfort from it.

I just want to say thank you for all the lovely comments that people leave, as well as a huge thank you to the lovely people who have donated towards my sponsored slim.

Loves of hugs and <3 to you all,

Lisa xxxx
