My Promise to Myself

Well for a while I have been promising myself that I would enter more challenges. I have tonight made a card that I am entering into a couple of challenge blogs.

I know I am still a relatively simple crafter, but I put a lot of time and effort into my cards and would like them to be seen by a larger audience. even if they don't win any prizes!

I have been playing with my Crafters Companion Moreheads CD again and found the most adorable image of a baby girl and a cute dog.

I took a 6x6 card blank and made a simple easel card with it. I found a gorgeous 12x12 k&co paper and matted this on pink and then yellow card stock to make a base for the bottom of the card and the visible side of the top of the card. I matted the Moreheads image with the same card.

I cut a lace ribbon border on my bigshot out of the pink card and added a yellow ribbon and bow as my easel card stopper.

I added the layered imaged onto the top of the easel card and finished the card off with a swirl and some beautiful hand made flowers cut out of the same coloured card as the layers and put them together with a pink and a yellow glittery brad.

I know this isn't as spectacular as some cards, but I am still practising with embellishments, and sometimes 'less is more'.

I would like to enter this card into the following Challenges:

ATC's and Cards with Attitude - Lace or Anything Goes

I hope you like this card as much as I enjoyed making it.

I think that you have the balance right - anything else on this card would have been too much- it's just perfect. Sometimes you just have to know when to stop. There's nothing wrong with your work - don't put yourself down, you do some fabulous work - and remember - beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Lisa I don't know where your getting the idea that your cards are not as good as others? All the ones I've seen and commented on are fabulous! This card is lovely, I've said before that cute cards aren't my thing, but there are a lot of crafters that love and do a lot of cute, and this card is certainly as good if not better than some Hun, so go on do those challenges, it'll boost your confidence. Xxx

Such a beautifully designed card Lisa. The image is adorable and the colours and layout are so gorgeous. I don't think you are a 'simple' crafter and I can see the amount of thought and effort you put into making your cards look so lovely.
I hope you have a good Sunday

Lisa your cards are stunning and I wish you wouldn't keep putting your artwork down. I think that your cards are ALL beautiful and this one is certainly no exception either. You should also enter this into the Crafter's Companion challenge too as I think their theme this month is best friends and this would fit superbly too.

Lisa, this is a very pretty card, just as nice as anyone else's.....none of us are experts, we all learn as we go. So 'buck up' pet.....and stop being negative. KEEP THINKING POSITIVE....that's my motto!
