Colourful Boy

Welcome followers, friends and fellow blog people. Hope you have all had a great day....

Today I spent most of it in bed or in the little girls room as I have a very bad stomach bug. Haven't eaten much at all today, should help with the diet lol

I took this evening to sit down and make a card. This is a bit different for me, as its a card for a young boy. I saw the image on the Katy Sue CD and fell in love with it. I teamed it up with matching paper from the CD as well as a backing sheet from kanban and some coredinations.

The colours I thought matched the image well and were nice and summery.

I'm not sure about this card yet, I think it's because it's not what I usually do!

Thank you to the regular commenters who always take the time to visit me, as well as the new visitors who leave comments....

A few cards...

Just a few cards from the last couple of days.

Haven't had time to craft today as I've been exercising lots to help with my slimming world diet...fingers crossed it will show on the scales come Tuesday!

Well, back to crafting. Here's my cards and I have used a couple of dies I got with my birthday money....

I hope you like then as much as I enjoyed making them.

Something Different....

It was pointed out that the 'mad crafters giggles' Facebook group is mainly geared around card makers. It wasn't meant to be like this, it just seems that the group challenges are entered by card crafters.
Due to this, I suggested a week of 'anything goes' for the daily challenges and that we should all try making something other than a card for at least on of the days.

Eager to put into practice what I had suggested, I altered a canvas the first day of 'anything goes'.

I sprayed the canvas with spun sugar re inker, water and mica powder. I then cut a heart out using a large due on pearly paper.
I arranged small sized pink buttons around the edge of the heart. I used an x-cut letter die to cut the word 'Love' and arranged these in the middle of the heart and then added a gorgeous pink glass heart button.

Very simple, but I am proud with my mixed media piece of work.

Card Making Machine!!

Hello fellow crafty people...hope you are all well?!

All those of you on my Facebook will know that I have been on slimming world and this week all went wrong! Bingeing, no exercise and bad psychologist appointment....
Due to the bad stuff I have turned to crafting as a comfort. I have been a card making machine this week and made loads!!!

I won't bore you all with what I used etc as there are a few cards....I will just post the pictures :-)

Hopefully this will make you smile...this is why Winston isn't allowed in my craft room, he loves paper too much lol

Take care everyone and happy crafting. Thank you for the visits and the love you leave

Addicted to Gorjuss

Good morning :-)
Yes it's very late/early, but I can't sleep again. I don't mind as I'm crafting rather than wasting the hours.

Looking through my topper stash this morning, I came across a load of gorjuss packs. I used one of the larger toppers earlier, so chose a small card blank to use one if the smaller toppers.

I'm really liking these darker looking cards. In the shops you can get cute, serious, funny and themed cards, however no one is filling the gothic/alternative gap in the card market.
I am going to try making more darker cards. If they are popular then great, if they aren't I haven't lost a lot have I!

Once again, thank you for taking the time to visit and leave such heart warming comments.
I hope you have all kept safe in this awful windy weather?!

Bright and Dark

Hello fellow crafty people :-) Hope you are all well and looking after yourselves in this awful windy weather?!

Yesterday was a longgggg day and even though I was so tired I looked dead on my feet, I couldn't sleep!
At 12:30am I found myself making a card :-)

I had purchased some kanban topper sheets in a shop here for 50p each so thought I would use one of them.

I diecut the card and the backing shapes and distressed the edges of some of them. I highlighted areas with glossy accents and then mica/ink sprayed the flowers to match the bow.

I am really pleased with how this card turned out....

Considering I didn't sleep that well, I was up early and making another card lol
Because I was tired and felt slightly grumpy, I made a card that showed my mood lol

I used a Gorjuss topper and tag, and some shimmer embossed card that I found in my stash :-)

I used eyelets and twine and some diecuts.

I used glossy accents again to highlight some of the areas of the tag.

This is very different to the first card, however I love it just as much...

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and leave lovely comments.

Black and White Sketch

Tuesdays daily challenge over on the 'Mad Crafters Giggles' Facebook group was
'Use a sketch'.
The sketch given for us to use was this one:

I decided to make mine in Black and White as this is the challenge theme over on
I used some unmounted nature stamps with black Matt card and white pearlised card for layers. I finished off with gems, pearls and card candi.

I hope you like this card as I was making it in the early hours as I couldn't sleep (might be a few wonky lines lol).

Doily Good Fun......

WOW, I would just like to say thank you for all the lovely comments I have been getting lately. The positive comments really make crafting worth while. Thank you.

The Daily Challenge yesterday in the 'Mad Crafty Giggles' facebook group was
'Use a doily in or on your project'.
This made my day as I had just received a big pack of different sized Doily's from eBay :D

I printed off a couple of SWALK images that were pre-coloured and cut them out.
I picked a paper that was from a booklet that came free with a magazine a while ago. They were mostly all jubilee papers, however this little gem was hidden amongst them.

I used some diecuts to make the layers for behind the image and doily and found some lace the suited both images.
I used glossy accents to highlight some of the areas on the images and also some glitter pen on the 'mum' card.
I finished off with card candi and some gems.

This is the first card..... a Congratulations card for expecting parents.

The second card is a Mum card... I have decided to take the plunge and enter a few challenges with this card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Challenges 4 Everybody - #18 Anything Goes
The Stamping Chef - Girly Girl Challenge
My Grafico Crafts - #148 Anything Goes
Memas Crafts - April, Anything Goes
Sugar Bowl Blog - #102 Anything Goes

Thank you again to everyone who visits my blog and comments.....they all mean a lot to me.

Bright, cheerful and Spring Like....

This was the theme of the daily challenge in 'Mad Crafty Giggles' Facebook group on Friday.

I took the theme very seriously and I met all the elements as I WON wooohooo

My card was made for a great friend of mine, Jane Adams. She has really supported me through my recent troubles on Facebook etc. Jane has spent many nights with me on FaceTime while I cried my eyes out and has even spoken to my dad when I have been too upset to talk to anyone.
Jane has a heart of gold and was also treated badly.

Well back to the cheerful stuff....here's my card
Hahahaha

Thank you again to everyone who takes time to comment on my blog, your comments mean a lot...

Black Theme

Well, today has been a strange one. My dads got a bad back and my mum has sciatica so I have been working like a house elf lol
they have looked after me enough, so it's nice to be able to give them something back. At least I got time to craft this evening :-)

Today's challenge in the 'Mad Crafters Giggles' Facebook group was
"Use a mask on or in your card"

I thought I would have a fun messy crafting session so I decided to use a metal work style mask and polly filler. I then sprayed it with black distress ink, silva mica powder and water then dried it with a heat gun.
The topper and sentiment are both from Kanban.

While I was on a dark theme I thought I would make a black and white card but do white on black for a change.
The image is an indigoblu one, stamped and heat embossed in white. I did the same for the sentiment.
Although you can see them in the photo, I have used little black gems on the image.

I have to say, I am really pleased with how both of these cards have turned out.

Hope you have all had great crafty days and I thank you for visiting my blog.

Not a birthday card.....

Well, before I show my cards can I please ask you to pop over to my friends blog and show her some love.
Her crafting is amazing, but she doesn't get the blog visits she deserves....

Thank you :-) I know how lovely you bloggers are...

Right, now to my makes today. I have noticed that I tend to make a lot of birthday type cards....I wanted to try something different.

Today I have made a Humphrey's corner 'congratulations, new baby' card.
I love the colour of this card as they are so different to normal baby card colours...

I also made a 'get well soon' card from a kanban topper sheet I found in my stash.
Again, I love the colours as I love yellow but I think it's an underused colour in crafting (apart from Easter and spring).

I hope you like these cards, as well as my friends blog.

I am a bit slow at catching up with comments at the moment, but please be assured I do reply to them all....

Simple Cards

I'm backkkkkk.....

Today I have made two simple cards from the bits I had cut out during my crafting break.

I have made both of them with 'card companions' from the Humphrey's corner CD.

I have added card candi, glitter, gems and pearls to finish them off.

It's nice to be making cards again and I hope you like them...

Hugs Lisa xxxxx

Woohoooo

I have to say I have loved having my brother home over the Easter period, however I have missed crafting so much!

I am sad he has gone home as I don't get to see him that much, but now he has gone home I can have my craft room back wooohoooo

I have been cutting bits n bobs out while I haven't been able to craft, so hopefully I can make quite a few quick cards for my stock....

It's good to be back!!!

There are two Winners. The First winner wins 4 LEJ Digi Stamps of their choice. The second winner wins a prize from our sponsors, please see the main blog post for further details.
Right, now for my make. My Favourite style is 'Pretty and Girly'.
The image I chose to use was 'Pucker Up'. I printed this on Hunkydory Professional stamp and colour card. I coloured the image in with Spectrum Noir pens. The image comes with a tree stump to sit on, however I didn't use that for this project as I had other idea of what I wanted the image to be sat on.
I picked two papers from a 'Basics' paper stack. I mounted these on a bright pink pearlised card. Both the papers and the card match the colours I used on the image.
I made different sized panels backed in the same card to mount on my card base. One one of these I stuck pink lace which is what the image has been placed on to look like she is sitting on it.
I made some diecuts from the bright pink pearliesd card as well as a pale blue card to fit in with the jeans in the image.
I then cut length of blue, pink and white twine and glued these under a big pink paper rose. The whole card was finished off with a sentiment, matching pearls and gems in the colours on the card.
This is my interpretation of 'Pretty and Girly' and I am pleased with how this has turned out.

This is a close up of the 'Pucker Up' Digi Stamp designed by Lindsay.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you like my first Design Team project for LEJ Designs..
