No crafting for a week

This morning at 6am I was packing away all my craft stuff to clear the room for my brother to sleep in.

We have a spare room which is Richards when he comes home, however it is ready to be decorated so is used as a store room for the moment.
I craft in my living room which is separate from mum and dads. Until his room is done, he sleeps in there on a giant double blow up bed so he can watch TV and play his Xbox.

I have however, kept out some stamped images and digi stamps and my spectrum noirs so I can at least colour during the week....

I will still be around on blogger to comment on all your gorgeous blogs!
Can't wait to start on my first LEJ DT make once I'm all settled back in my craft space....

Miss my crafting already :(

Vintage with Red

Today's Daily Challenge on 'mad crafters giggles' was
"Vintage with something red".

I have had the mother of all headaches today, so decided to make a quick ATC to make sure I joined in.

I used an image from a vintage CD I purchased from eBay. I coated it lightly with clear embossing ink by Tim Holtz and covered in ultra thick embossing powder. I heated from the top as I wanted the dull old look to it.
I screwed the image up in my Jane and then distressed it with Victorian velvet to get in the cracks.

I drew a gold line around the red ATC base and glued the image on. Diecut a feint gold corner and spray glued it on, allowing some glue to seep through to make it look tarnished.

The rose I coloured with  shabby shutters distress reinker, water and tarnished rose mica powder all mixed in a spray bottle.

I finished off with a small piece if feather and some red and gold flat backed pearls.

I'd like to enter my ATC into the

Not a great make, however at least I joined in! I used to really enjoy making ATCs, however I haven't made any for a long time.....something I'm going to start making again!

Thank you for visiting my blog, you make my day reading all your comments.

Daily Challenge Entries

The 'Mad Crafter's Giggles' group have a daily challenge each day. Please feel free to click on the link to join the group :D Everyone is welcome xxx

Yesterday's (Friday) challenge was 'pink' which is right up my street. I am so proud of myself that I didn't go all cute and girly like I would usually lol
I used a paper from a pad I got. The papers look like gorgeous modern wall papers. I mixed this with pink pearl paper and an aqua green colour.

I used diecuts and a sentiment stamp. Around the stamped circle I have used versatile watermark ink and brushed bronzed red mica powder over it and set with a heat gun.

Today's challenge (Saturday) was set by ME as I WON yesterday's pink challenge yay :-) I chose the theme 'ribbon and glitz'.
I thought I should show willing so made a card to combine with an order I had for a teal coloured card.
I used peacock feather distress ink reinker droplets in a bottle with a little amount of water and some mica powder. Shaked well and sprayed the white card base, sentiment card, flowers and ribbon lace.
The backing paper is a kanban design coloured around the edge with the same coloured ink.

I hope you like my makes as I really did enjoy making them.

Thank you to everyone who visits my blog.

My favorite colours!

Thank you for all the lovely comments :-) I read every single one of them and they all make me smile.

Today I have mainly been playing with Winston as he is in a very loving mood.... BUT I did make time to craft...

Today's daily challenge over on the "mad crafter's giggles" group, was 'use feathers of some kind'. Luckily I have plenty of feathers as I love them :-)

I used one of my kanban toppers as well as a sheet of paper from my kanban paper pad. I used pink, black and silver which I love mixed together.

I then added some ribbon, roses in black and pink and the important feathers!

I hope you like it. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but its nice to make something dramatic from time to time...

Thank you for visiting,

Hugs

Bounced Back :-)

I have had a few rough days (as you will see from my news in previous post).
Unfortunately, some adults can't just delete someone and forget about them, they have to make nasty comments and send abusive messages on social networking sites. It's a shame really as its just a form of bullying.

Onwards and upwards and I have come out of it fighting and happy :-)

I have made a couple of cards from some Kanban kits I purchased in their 50% off closing sale.

One is from the female kit. It was made with a dress form and roses from the kit. I matched a backing as much as I could to the dress form and distressed the edges. The flowery background is quite vintage looking and match the colour of the button on the tag and the roses.

I hope you like this card as I think it is quite different to what I normally make....

The second one I made for a challenge on my Facebook group as well as for an F1 mad neighbours birthday.

Again, the backing card and image are from the male kanban kit and the rest I embossed and backed in black.
I finished off with ribbon and twine and some gorgeous metal stuff similar to card candi! Love them!!!

I have finally gotten around to adding my beautiful LIEBSTER AWARD to my blog (im proud I could do it as I am useless with blogger lol). I would like to thank the lovely Zoe Russel and Shelagh McCarther for nominating me for this award. I will be giving this award to 5 people who have less that 200 followers. Thank you ladies...I am very touched you thought of me...

I am having problems with blogger on my phone as it won't let me leave comments, however I am going to do a blog commenting session this evening on my laptop.
I hope you don't think I'm rude and been ignoring your blogs, I have been trying.

Sad news....

I am no longer the design team co-ordinator on a previous challenge blog.
I have had a falling out with the owner and was removed from the blog.
It's a shame as I know I did a good job and I know the team were happy.

Never mind, onwards and upwards and I'm sure new and exciting things will come my way.

It's come at a good time, as I start the hard stuff with the psychologist so will need 'me' time.

Now I can craft what I want when I want and do it with a smile.

To my old DT members, love you all as you were all amazing and made my job enjoyable xxxxx

Bronzed Autumn

Hellow followers and viewers... Thank you for visiting again.

I know it is coming up to spring, however I had a search around my craft stuff today and I found some gorgeous bronzed coloured pearl card that I HAD to use.

I started with a 6x6 square card, and sprayed it with bronze shimmer mist. While that was drying I cut out a number of leaves from the pearl card. For this I used a spell binders set.
I stamped leaves around the edge of the card using vintage photo distress ink and then blended the outside of the card.
I spread the leaves around the outside of the card and then diecut a bird out of the same bronze pearl card.
I finished the card off with a black diecut bird cage.

I hope you like this card, even though it isnt bright and cheerful.....

Thank you again for all your lovely comments and views,

S.W.A.L.K Card

Hello fellow crafters :-)

It's been a few days since I crafted, but it's been a mad few days.

As you all know, I was a member of the Craftymess group on Facebook. Unfortunately this group is closing as the owner has a lot of commitments too her business etc...soooooo me and Jane Adams have started our own group :-) Its a very relaxed group called "Mad Crafter's Giggles" and we will offer Daily Challenges, Swaps, Challenges set up and run by members and lots of laughs and giggles...PLUS a 'daily hunky boyfriend' lol you need to join to find out what that is lol

I hope you would like to join our group, by clicking on the above link.

Well, back to ME :-)
Today was the last daily challenge in the old group and the theme was '50 shades of grey OR shabby chic'. I decided on shabby chic, however I don't think my make was that shabby chic lol

I used a S.W.A.L.K image from their CD collection. Highlighted it with time holtz distress ink. Used a coordinating card to back the image and backing paper. Coloured the outer edge of a mini doily, used heart diecuts, mulberry paper flowers, gems and card candi.

Hope you like it, and as usual, thank you for reading my ramblings and leaving lovely comments :-)

Hugs,

Thank You Card

This card is a very special one for me. Those who know me know that I have some mental health issues and been seeing a Psychologist since January.
Phil my current psychologist leaves on Thursday and I get a new person.
Phil has helped me so much, those on my Facebook will hopefully have seen the difference in my attitude.

This card is made to say 'thank you' for making such a difference in such a short time!

I have made the card in black and white as the Daily Challenge in the CraftyMess Facebook Group which the theme is set, and then judged each night at 21:00 by the previous days winner.

I hope you like this card, and I really hope Phil likes it.

Thank you for all the lovely messages you leave on my blog. They really show that my efforts are worth while xxx

Song Bird

I have made a 6" x 6" card. I have chosen a backing paper with bright birds and butterflies to tie in with the card theme. I have used plenty of diecuts on this card in matching colours within the backing paper. The birdcage with lovebirds I have sprayed with mica ink spray.
