Another beer

Well after selling the previous 'buy this man a beer' card as soon as I put it on Facebook, I thought I would make a second card along the same theme.

Used a spotty/bubble backing that I thought would give some colour but also the look of bubbles.
Backed everything in the bubble paper and a dark brown card stock.

The image and sentiment are stamped with versatile 'vintage sepia' ink and again the beer mug has been covered with 'glossy accents'.

To take the plainness off the card I made a card boarder stamped with the same sentiment stamp. The card was then finished off with a distressed blue card , which is the same colour as some of the bubbles on the paper, in each corner.

Hope this is equally as loved as the black and white one xxx

Sexy!!!

I am going to make one of these for a few of my crafting friends who have supported me through my tough times.

I coloured the ATC base with Victorian velvet Tim holtz distress ink and then stamped 'ooh la la!' with the same colour to make a backing paper.
The corset image was stamped with Docecraft embossing ink and a while glitter embossing powder was heat embossed to make the beautiful image.
Both stamps are from creative expressions 'vintage lingerie' set.
I punched holes on one edge, used some eyelets and then ties black ribbon through. Added for stitching to the other three edges and added a gorgeous black gem. Finished off with the word 'sexy' stamped.

I hope they like them and I hope you like them as well xxx

Buy this man a beer

Couldn't sleep due to the heat so I was up early crafting away :-)

The craftymess challenge today was to make anything including the following things:

- gingham or checked paper/card
- a paper fold
- three brads
- a male themed sentiment

I started with a 6x6 card blank and matted and layered with black mirri board. I the made a black/grey gingham card and folder over on corner. On the plain corner that was folder I stamped 'just for you' to cover it.
I stamped an image from personal impressions using versafine ink pad in black and matted and layered with the same black and gingham card.
The sentiment was a cheap stamp from 'home bargains' and that was stamped with the same ink and matted and layered on the same papers.
Finished off with three card candi black spotted brads to add a different contrasting pattern and glossy accented the beer mug on the image.

I have kept it back and white as I love the simplistic look to the card.

Hope you like it :-)

Travel ATCs

I received my first ATCs yesterday and I love them. I purchased a pink pinboard to put my collection on!

The swop this time is 'travel' which I thought would be easy but boy was I wrong....

I made three as I was on a roll.

ATC 1 - I wanted to make an ATC suitcase. I coloured the base with crushed corduroy Tim holtz distress ink and the used a little bit of stained walnut on the outer edges.
Punched a 1.5" circle in pearlised brown card and cut in quarters to use as the suitcase corners.
I made a luggage tag and coloured with antique linen distress ink. I stamped the word 'travel' in brown ink and stuck it all together and added a little key charm to give some dimension.

ATC 2 - space travel. I thought this would have a play with the theme. Mounted some K&Co paper on silver mirri board and stamped the wording. I stuck on a yellow star button and used glossy accents to make one of the spaceships stand out more once it's dried.

ATC 3 - I mounted a scrap of K&Co paper onto silver mirri board and stamped all the writing using two different sized stamps. I then stuck a small silver helicopter charm on to add some dimension.

I hope you like these ATCs I made, I enjoyed making them as much as i enjoy receiving them :-)

Quick quick Hunkydory Card

Today's daily craftymess challenge was to make something featuring a bat.

This card was made with two hunkydory toppers which I cut down and mounted on gold mirri board and then placed on a hunkydory card base.

The sentiments are added using foam pads to raise them slightly and added three card candi to tie in some of the prominent colours in the toppers.

I think the challenge idea was a 'bat' as in animal but it wasnt specific and bats are ugly lol I used my imagination and my own interpretation :-)

Hope you like my quick quick card xx

What a week!

I have had a rough week but throughout all that has happened I have continued crafting as it takes me into my own creative world and while crafting I can't think about anything else....

I have added pictures of the cards I have made. I'll be honest, haven't got the energy to write how I made them all, however, if you want any info on how I did something then please ask.

I hope you like them xxxx

Finally I'm back to crafting!

Well I hope you are all well and happy crafters :-)

I have been quite poorly lately both physically and mentally but I am getting better an back to my first passion CRAFTING!

I'm not sure how many of you know, I have mental health problems. I'm not ashamed of it as it was being in hospital that got me started with crafting. I made my first card while in a secure ward and I gave it to my mum and dad and inside it said 'look what I made for you in nutty school today' and I haven't stopped making since!

I am a self taught crafter an like to try things and if they work then great, if they don't then I give up for a while...have a sulk....then go back to it lol

Well enough about ME....

Yesterday I actually made two cards (would have been more but my afternoon nap lasted afternoon and evening lol).

CARD 1 -
The first one was a gorgeous little stamp I have and I stamped with versafine and heat embossed with black embossing powder. The powder is from a little craft shop near me and it smells of coffee....it's gorgeous.
I the did the same for the sentiment. Both were die cut through my big shot and while in the die I colored with the new spring edition Tim holtz distress ink.
Once out of the dies I then tinted the edging with pink distress ink. The image was colored with mica paints to give it a lovely shine.

The backing paper was from the forever friends spring collection and mounted on pink card.

The ribbon lace was diecut from simple pink card and a yellow ribbon threaded through.

All was finished off with organza flowers from eBay and some lovely sparkly bling gems.

CARD 2 -
The image is an unmounted stamp from a steam punk range. I embossed and then used antique gold embossing powder and heated from underneath to leave it smooth and glossy. The edges of the image was a border die through my big shot. I used gold rub on the edge to give it a different colored edge.

The backing was from k&Co and I edged with another of the spring edition Tim holtz distress inks. This was then mounted on the same gold as the image.
I used textured gold card stock as a different colour and texture on the card and greeting.

The flower and swirls were all die cut using the same paper and card used on the topper an backing.

All finished off with well matched card candi (I'm addicted to those little legless bliters lol).

Hope you like my first work for a wee while xxxx

DT craftyMess challenge blog

The challenge was to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colours.
The first card I made was pink and black but as all my Christmas crafting stash is still in the loft I didn't have a lot to play with. The card didn't look very christmassy at all...

I found a pack of 'gorjuss' toppers that must have slipped through the christmas net.

I picked the topper that help the most non-traditional colours and then matted on red, green and black card stock.
I did the same with the sentiment.

I imbossed deep red coredinations card stock with snow flakes and sanded gently to see more of the pattern. I then used a tonic punch to punch stars in one side. This was then matted on black card stock and placed on a green card blank.

Ribbon was used along with a hand made flower made with the same coredinations card stock, swirl diecuts and pearl hatpins.

Vintage flowers

The craftymess daily challenge was to make something using vintage flowers, ribbon, lace and two brads and they must all be distressed.

Topper - hunkydory topper that I have distressed with a Tim holtz edger distressed and then distressed with Victorian velvet tim holtz ink.

Backing paper - one I found that is full of very vintage and gorgeous floral papers. The edges have been distressed with the same Tim holtz ink.

Lace and ribbon - the lace has had the edges tinged with the same distress ink and stuck down with the ribbon over the top to cover the adhesive.

The card was all put together and two pink brads used distressed with gold.

I am really getting into this vintage stuff :-)

Classic black and white

Have used a unmounted corset stamp which I think is classy and sexy all at the same time.
I used a versafine ink pad to get the detail from the stamp.

The sentiment is stamped from the same stamp set and I used indigoblu flitterGlu and gilding flakes to make it foiled.

Haves used textured backing paper and matted and layered with white and matte black.

Embellishments and diecuts were used just to finish it off.

Hope you like it xxx

Orange tones butterfly

Today's challenge over at craftymess was to make something with a stamped butterfly image and ONE orange toned flower.

I have diecut the matts and Layers and inked the white layers with the due still attached so I get a white outer circle.

I stamped the image, embossed in black and colored with orange mica paint.

I have decorated with foe stitching, lace, ribbon and card candi. The flower was made using a die that has been curled with a quilling tool.

Fingers crossed for me.... Hope you like it xxxx

Simply does it

Today's challenge he over at CraftyMess on Facebook was to make a something with JUST a butterfly. I loved them so much I made two...

I used a black peel off on pearlised vellum and embossed the details of the butterfly from behind with a ball tool.
The sentiment is embossed with a folder through my big shot.

I have colored the butterfly and sentiment with purple coloring pencils to give a splash of subtle color. Have mounted on pearlescent card and punched the outer edge and put the same color pearl card inside the card with another punched edge stuck on the pearl card.

Gems have been added to the corners of the topper to add some simple embellishment.

Hope you like my simple card xxx
