Butterfly Box

WOW WOW WOW Thank you all soooooo much for the amount of comments on my last blog post and all your kind words...You left me speechless. I am working my way through them, repaying the love.

Yesterday, I fancied making something different. I made a Design Team piece, which I can't show you yet, and I decorated a box that I have had for a while.

I started off by stamping the sides of the box with a kanban stamp and purple versafine ink.
I then mixed gesso with some Victoria Velvet distress ink to make a coloured gesso and painted the whole of the box. I added a few more layers and stippled them to give some texture and deeper colouring.
I mixed some of the same ink with water, in a spray bottle, and sprayed the box.
I glued through a butterfly mask I have, and then glittered over the top.
Added some skeleton leaves, pearl sprays and various sized roses.
I finished with some dusky pink ribbon and a silver butterfly charm and pearls.

The main focus butterfly on the lid was made by a company called SeemaCrafts.
The company is run by Seema, and she has a challenge blog as well, details of which is in my blog side bar.
Please pop over and show some support to a new business and challenge blog.
These butterflies are so easy to colour as they take ink, alcohol pens etc They are absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you once again for all the wonderful visits to my blog....
Comments will be returned, they just might take a few days lol
